Yes, vintage means old. Plain and simple. For something to be considered “vintage”, you are basically saying that it has “seen better days.” I believe that living a ‘vintage lifestyle’ is more than just wearing old clothes and acting like you’re still living in the 60s. It’s essentially an easier way of living, a minimalistic approach to life and all the stress that comes with it.
Not just objects can be considered vintage. For example, I think that working with your hands is a very vintage way of living. “Getting down-an-dirty” with a standard blue-collar 9-5; I think this is an overlooked ‘vintage lifestyle’. People just wanting to live the ‘American dream.’ Money is not so much the important thing in life. It’s happiness and satisfaction of a job well-done.
